Rogue River Fishing Guides Report – Aug 17

It’s been a busy start to the first half of August (thanks for all the work FishingTheRogue.com). Fishing on the Upper Rogue has been up and down this month, but overall remains good. The salmon bite had slowed down the past week, but has picked right back up the last couple of days. The big push of steelhead seems to have passed, but there are still a few trickling up river. We have been catching our salmon both back bouncing eggs, and fishing them under bobbers. The steelhead bite has been best on small plugs, and I have started to hook a few salmon on them as well.

They have increased flows recently which will be bringing the first of the fall salmon up river, as well as some fresh summer steelhead. I have plenty of dates available in September for the fall salmon, and expect fishing to be great just like last year.

Here’s a few pictures from the last two weeks…
